Both in her abstract and her figurative art, Monica uses her materials as participants in her work and she creates sculptural surfaces through her heavily layered impasto technique. The color palette of this paintings consists of bright, bold and energetic shades of red, fuchsia, burgundy, pink, violet and contrasting white anchored by deep blues. Monica's favorite color is blue and in this painting she explores various shades with sky blue, navy, cerulean, Prussian Blue and indigo.
