Jan van Halderen is a Dutch contemporary artist widely known for his internationally acclaimed sculptures. He was a self-taught artist. He has made sculptures in terracotta, concrete and stone. He made works for the public space in Lopik (Meeting in 1965) and Delft (Het Fabelmens en De Gokkers in 1969). Later he cast works in bronze, using the lost wax method (cire perdue).
