Biedermeier secretaire in cherry veneer, south german, circa 1820.
elegant early biedermeier secretaire or drop front secretary desk from south germany around 1820.
cherry wood book-matched veneered on softwood and cherry sid wood, partly ebonized. Inside in mahogany veneer with drawers and three open compartments. Above one long drawer under the cornice. Below two long drawers with d box locks. Fly restored and hand-polished with shellac.
