The painting captures the vibrant nature of tulips as they appear in rows of rainbow like color. Hints of the farmstead rest in the background creating a feeling of wonder and more simple way of life.

The painting is expressive and simplistic with a focus on the shapes within the landscape. Brushstrokes accent the liveliness of the blue and white sky and texture of the tulips. The palette is saturated with bright oranges, pinks, and yellows along with natures rich greens and subtle more earthy tones.

Inspiration for this artwork a trip to plein air paint at Holland Ridge Farms in New Jersey. I painted quite a few pieces on site and took many photos to work with from home. The painting is a signed original that can be hung as is or framed. See less
