The variegated silk material contains multiple tones which catch the light differently depending on lighting conditions and direction (orientation to light source)--adding dynamism and complexity to the set's overall impression. Lovely hand-turned legs, strong proportions, and robust, mortise and tenon joinery throughout. The shape of the chairs is decidedly modern and unadorned, this is contrasted against an early Renaissance color scheme, with texture and refined decoration--the resulting synthesis is unique and unexpectedly harmonious.
