Vintage Stangl Pottery Magnolia Pattern Gravy / Sauce Boat
The Stangl Magnolia pattern was designed by Kay Hackett and was introduced in 1952. It remained in production until 1978. This pattern was the first to utilize a new green engobe also developed by Kay Hackett that was different than the usual white Stangl backgrounds. The pattern is one of many floral-themed designs and features incised lines and raised detail. Like most Stangl, it is hand painted with no two pieces exactly alike. The gravy boat from this pattern features one large magnolia flower on a branch with green leaves on both sides. It has an easy-to-pour spout and a comfortable-sized handle.
Measures ~ 8 1/2" L x 3 3/4" W x 2 1/2" H. Holds ~ 12 ounces.
In excellent vintage condition. Without chips, deep scratches, crazing, or cracks. The artwork is intact and the colors are bright. The glaze is shiny. Please see the pictures.
