These images showcase the most chic fashion couture designs for the woman who loves to ski. Illustrated and signed by the artist, Pierre Mourgue. Mourgue's work exemplified the Art Deco style which used elongated lines, understated glamour and a hint of adventure. These features are characteristic of the period. Pierre Mourgue was a house illustrator for the influential French fashion magazine Gazette de Bon Ton and was a highly respected illustrator and lithographer. He later worked for the leading haute couture houses of Jacques Fath, Lanvin, Dior, Balenciaga, Balmain and Givenchy. He did extensive work in fashion illustrations for leading French fashion magazines with chic Parisienne clientele including French Vogue, Femina, L'Official de la Couture, etc. These prints are prime examples of his work. They are crisp and pristine with intense clarity. Please note the beauty of the metallic inks of the silver gray tones. Metallic inks were used in print during the Art Deco years; They are unique and specific to these years and add a special beauty to the images. The prints each measure 4 x 10.25 inches in size; each comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat that works with a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
