Overview: This is pair of beautiful Original Mid Century Abstract Pastel on Paper drawings from well-listed French artist, Robert Helman (1910-1990). Helman is a celebrated abstract artist who has exhibited across Europe, including at the Paris Museum of Modern Art. His works are held in very prestigious public and private collections. His oil on canvas works sell for $5000+ . These are rare pastel and crayon, mixed media drawings of an abstract figure in brick red with a gold/tan background. Signed in the lower left as shown. They have been professionally matted with acid-free mat to preserve them for years to come. Likely done 1950/1960. Custom framing available. Please contact us for details.

Measurements: Each is approx 14"x7" and approx 19"x12" matted.
About the Artist: Robert Helman was born in Romania in 1910 before moving to Paris in 1927. Based in Montparnasse from 1946, he shared in the adventure of the New Parisian School without allowing himself to be trapped by a pictorial trend. He painted with bold gestures and a bright palette, his Soleil (Suns), Genèse (Genesis), Racines (Roots), Germinations, Arbres (Trees) and Envols (Taking Flight) have produced a vast personal cosmology. Robert Helman has thus managed to communicate his life force through powerful and lyrical work, by expressing whilst in harmony with Nature, the intimate bond uniting personal reality and figurative art.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
