All … Read more This limestone mantel is one of twelve fireplace mantels that we've recently acquired from a chateau-like mansion in Italy.

All twelve rare mantels were intricately hand carved by Italian master carvers and installed on site anywhere between circa(1782-1805). Each reclaimed mantel comes with its original salvaged hearth. Some mantels were also reclaimed with their old iron hooks, chains or hangers. Until this day, all twelve mantels remain very well preserved. They were hand-carved using rare Italian limestone with slightly varying color undertones.

This gothic fortress style old fireplace is characterized by the carvings on its Lintel, it's inner surrounds and it's column shaped legs. It has no breaks or cracks and remains in great condition. All hand carved details, such as the coat of arms, remain very visible. The dimensions on this exclusively elegant mantel are detailed in the image.
