This antique side chest or end-table from Italy features nice clean lines, allowing the linear outlining of the inlay trimming about the top, drawers, and sides to speak for the simple elegance of this piece. The chest houses two drawers, one atop the other, each adorned with an escutcheon key-hole at center. This chest is presented nicely upon four gently tapering squared legs. Please note that the backside of the cabinet has been replaced at one point (as can be seen in the additional images). This 19th century Italian raised chest is the perfect piece where a smaller sized chest is needed; perhaps as a small nightstand, or used as an end table with storage next to your favorite reading chair.
