Offered is a vintage 1970s handcarved Maple and Koa wood trinket and jewelry puzzle box made by Fred and Marilyn Buss in California.
As a couple, the Busses have been involved in hand-crafts since they graduated from college. In 1971 displaying their unique and organic band-sawn box forms. Their sculptural boxes are shaped and smoothed by a series of techniques they developed in their box-making experience and they are known for their fine selection of woods and beautifully finished pieces.
Comprised on 4 inerlocking pieces, this box has a removable corner piece that allows the cover to slide out revealing a secondary carved cover over the hidden interior compartment.
It measures 5.75" x 3.25" x 4".
