Oil on canvas from the 19th century school.
This work depicts a middle-aged shepherd, a young woman and a child.
The scene takes place on a high mountain slope, with the old man seated on a rock, resting. The woman, lying beside him, gazes tenderly at him. Sitting at their feet, the child dips his hand into a wicker basket.
with the tip of her brush, the artist depicts the daily life of a shepherd, playing with luminosity and chiaroscuro.
The canvas is enhanced by a molded frame with corner motifs of shells, scrolls, garlands and acanthus leaves. The inner perimeter is scalloped.
Significant for paintings made in the 19th century, this canvas will appeal to art lovers.
