Oil on canvas from the 19th century school.
This work depicts an angler and his wife on the banks of a river.
The latter, seated, seems to be holding a discussion with her companion, who is totally absorbed in preparing his fishing rod.
In the background, a bridge conceals the opposite bank.
The painting is set off by a gilded frame decorated with cord, pearl and acanthus leaf frieze.
This rural painting will appeal to art lovers.
