Italian in origin, the painting is a well executed classic still life interpretation of freshly plucked stone fruit resting on a window ledge that overlooks a stream in the countryside. The work is signed illegibly, appearing to be “Bianski”, in the lower right corner. The 18x24 inch horizontal painting is housed in an exquisite wood frame embellished with
gilded trim and exterior dimensions measuring 17x33 inches. Both the painting and the frame are in very good condition, compliment one another well, and can be hung and enjoyed decoratively as they are. Both show wear commensurate with age and history of use. No rips, tears, paint loss, craquelure, or other compromising imperfections are found on the artwork. Occasional scratches and corner bumps are seen on the frame though there is no loss of gilt and all ornamentation appears secure.
