The Empire, also known as the Wellington, was the first in a line of highly successful push-type typewriters based on Wellington Parker Kidder’s original design. The machine was introduced in the United States (Wellington) and Canada (Empire) in 1892. "The Empire" was discontinued in 1924, after Kidder sold the patent to Remington, but Adler continued to produce thrust-action typewriters that remained in use throughout Europe until the 1960s. The Thrust-action was the predecessor of the famous Remington Noiseless typewriter. Details Manufacturer: Empire Typewriter Co.
