Hand Hammered Samovar Tea Pot is the work of 1890-1910 Russian Jews on NYC's lower east side, often used with a samovar. The capital of Jewish America at the turn of the 20th century was New York's Lower East Side. This densely packed district of tenements, factories, and docklands had long been a starting point for recent immigrants, and hundreds of thousands of the new arrivals from Eastern Europe settled there on arrival.
Sculptural hammered brass with copper rivets. Great patina and brass tones. Very reflective - definitely an eye catcher. Would make a great piece of kitchen decor on your countertop or enclosed glass cabinet.
Measurements: 7" H to top of handle and 8.5" at the widest point.
Interior - No pitting or stain. Looks like it was hardly used.
There are no engravings, makers mark or artist initials present.
Based on research and correspondence with The Jewish Museum item most likely crafted here in New York.
