In the 70s of the last century when uzbekistan was part of the soviet union, kosmin traveling a lot in these lands to east was fascinated by the colors and architectures of the mosques and the madrase of samarkand, khiva, bukhara this is an exceptional work of a madrassa by kiva dmitrij kosmin (whosk, 1925 - moscow, 2003) was born in 1925 to who, but the family moved to kazakhstan in 1932. In 1943 he left for the front and, after the war, attended the art institute of tashkent (1946 to 1949). The artistic studies continued at the moscow art institute (then surikov), where he discusses the thesis in 1952. Since 1954 he began to participate in the most prestigious exhibitions in russia and abroad. The late sixties and seventies constitute the moment of maximum public recognition of the talent of kosmin, in fact, in italy, at the venice biennale in 1966 and in 1967 in ferrara, palazzo dei diamanti, and to the most representative exhibitions of soviet painting in world. In 1970 he was awarded the title of emeritus artist of the soviet union. The artistic production of the moscow dmitrij kosmin, mainly aimed at the genre of the landscape, reveals a deep link with the homeland and is large and multifaceted as infinitely varied and changing is the russian nature. The subjects of his canvases range, in fact, from the exterminated and harsh siberian expanses to the sunny shores of crimea, from the burned lands of centrale asia to the simple enchantment of the surroundings of moscow, from the splendor of the ancient oriental cities to the small fishing villages of the north . The work in different regions and latitudes offers the possibility of comparison and allows you to grasp the profound meaning of the irrepentability of the various places and moments. Kosmin, however, never stands as a simple contemplator of nature, limiting himself within the boundaries of the "pure landscape", but also introduces gender elements that transform his canvases into manifestations of feelings and images-thoughts, giving life to landscapes resolved in the key deeply emotional, which often have a wide, almost epic resonance. These are compositions built on a system of pictorial hyperboli poetic, in which chromatic, rhythmic conflict or expressed by the perspective relationships of the plastic forms are identified. Kosmin's pictorial language is impetuous, joyful, sometimes decorative and fine; the predilection for the sound, intense and the safe plasticity of the form accentuate the emotional intonation of its works, always thought originally and deeply meditated. Awarded prestigious official awards, present at international exhibitions of the highest level, dmitrij kosmin occupies a place of honor among the great masters of soviet figurative art. Moscow museums, galleria tret'jakov kostroma, museum of contemporary soviet art perm, gallery of modern art klaipeda, museum of fine arts omsk, museum of fine arts frunze, museum of modern art tomsk, museum of fine arts alma-ate arts , museum of fine arts novosibirsk, museo delle fine arts sverdlavsk, museo delle fine arts tiumen, museum of fine arts novokuznetsk, museum of modern art the works of dmitrij kosmin are treated permanently by the pirra art gallery and are published in color on monographs curated by the gallery.
