Sometimes I find some unique items in some unique places. I was just in maine and I stopped in with a dealer I do some business with and he offered me 2 original paintings of the hotel del coronado in san diego. California paintings in maine. Go figure. They came from an estate who spent many of their significant family events at the hotel and had these hanging in their houses. This one is done by an artist by the name of ermo mezo. The two things I have found about the artist is that he is in the collection of the san francisco library and he does hopi paintings of kuchina dolls. I have read that he was actually a hopi indian but I have not been able to confirm. This is a wonderful watercolor and gouache on paper view of the hotel. Painting measures 10 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches. Signed lower left. Excellent as painted condition. Double archival matte with original wood frame is complimentary and ready to hang. Frame measures 17 3/4 x 21 3/4 inches. See less
