This artwork conveys the energy and architectural beauty of the urban environment through the artist's use of vibrant colors and dynamic composition. The use of pastels allows for a soft and blendable medium, resulting in a visually striking representation of the cityscape.

Group exhibitions in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, USA and Canada.
In the middle of 1960s he began participated in exhibitions with works in batik technique. Since the end of the 60s, he has been focusing on weaving. Large-size textile decorative objects are made mainly in mixed technique. One of the main themes is connected with the 0unicorns, which were often depicted in tapestries in ancient France at 15th century. Figures form in the tapestries of Barkan is ornamental. The nuanced color gamma can felt especially at the works on the nature theme. Barkan is one of the first in Latvia, engaged in spatial textiles. Ideologically and formally, originally made minitextiles. Participated in exhibitions with paintings, published articles on architecture and applied art in newspaper "Literature and Art", "Soviet Youth".
In 1968 he was awarded with the medal by the Artists' Union for the best creative achievement. This piece has an attribution mark,
