The chairs have … Read more Fine set of ten English mahogany dining chairs made in the style and manner of Thomas Chippendale. The chairs have delicate mahogany frames decorated in the rococo taste. The set consists of eight side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 23 inches wide, 22 inches deep, and 42 inches high. The seats originally had cane insets but have been replaced. The seats measure 18 inches high and 21 inches with the pads. The seat cushions are newly upholstered with a conforming shape and bowed in the front. The seat crest is decorated with a shell motif rocaille. The gracefully curved legs are conjoined by shaped stretchers. The chairs have a dramatic profile. Beautifully crafted with old repairs.
