"Still Life in a Country House Setting" Painting by Malva. Canvas dimensions 31 x 1 x 39 in. and framed as shown 39 x 2 x 47 in. Malvas was one of the most successful of contemporary post impressionist painters whose paintings could be found in leading galleries in European capitals and the United States. Yet an air of mystery surrounds this artist, whose real name is Omar Malva Hamdi and was born in Syria in 1951 of a Kurdish family with strong cultural ties to France.
Malva exhibited at the Arnot Gallery and Wally Findlay Galleries in New York and Palm Beach.
His work was also shown at the Kamp Gallery in Chicago.
