On the Design:

Bellini carpets in this provenance refer to a special tradition of Persian designs inspired by the carpets in the famous Venetian Renaissance paintings of the same name that inspired generations. Connoisseurs may further note this design seems to draw on Polonaise sensibilities in its particular use of pink, gold and navy blue. Its play of finely detailed medallions and floral patterns remark a fabulous play of these sensibilities with the Tabriz style in one of the most sophisticated pieces of its provenance.
