Oil on paper glued on board, signed by the French artist Charles Wislin and dated 1931 in Senlis. It represents a bouquet of flowers in the foreground on a dark background. The bouquet is composed of chrysanthemums in warm tones, in red, orange and yellow.
Charles Wislin (1852-1932) was a landscape painter, heavily influenced by Impressionism. Although he graduated in law, the wealthy life of his family allowed him to devote himself to painting from a very young age, inspired by the landscapes that were within his reach, at first, the surroundings of Paris (Montmartre), which he gradually extended thanks to his travels: Normandy, Brittany, the forest of Fontainebleau, the Pyrenees, the Alps, Lake Como \.\. He borrowed his technique from the Impressionists, the fast and loose brushstroke and painting al plein air, painting outdoors and from nature, seeking to capture the intensity of light, as opposed to the landscapes themselves. It was the last years of his life that he dedicated to painting still lifes of flowers.
His works were exhibited in group exhibitions in Paris, mainly at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon des Indépendants.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final

Cancellations

- Chairish Freight Delivery
