"The Next Day" is an original oak framed figurative drawing in oil on Japanese frayed paper float-mounted on natural linen.

Greg Lauren earned his B. A. in Art History from Princeton University and, as the nephew of fashion designer Ralph Lauren and son of executive vice president of design at Polo Ralph Lauren, Greg Lauren's career spans a colorful and exciting history. Early on Greg gained recognition as a cover artist for DC Comics, Vertigo and Hellblazer. Afterwards, his paintings and sculpture gained the focus of solo showings exhibited throughout the United States.

Along with Japanese paper, and oil paint, Greg uses various techniques to achieve a look of something old, worn and loved. "I apply, I remove, I scrape and it comes into own", says Greg, when asked what the process is for him. "it's more about capturing the essence of someone, or something, than about details that remove you from the spirit of the subject." See less
