Originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, a vintage Chaput style kilim rug connoting elaborate tribal sensibilities. Handwoven in wool, the piece exhibits an unusual play of vibrant embroidery atop a rich brown background seldom seen outside this and a handful of other tribal flat weaving aesthetics. Keen eyes will admire playful tones of orange, green, pink and more in the latch-hook and motif-inspired designs this piece enjoys.
Prevailing in great condition, a 5x7 rug carrying intricate patterns and an imaginative take on traditional elements. Exemplary of this provenance.
