Hand-knotted in wool, this 2x4 Baluch Afghan rug of the 1950s is the latest to enter Rug & Kilim’s Antique & Vintage collection.
On the Design:
The vintage rug carries tribal patterns in rich tones of red, blue & black with orange juxtapositions. A keen eye would note how the colors play with orange on the field that almost gives an illusion of a vertical movement in design. This nomadic style drawing is further complemented by borders with fine geometric patterns in similar colorways for a more wholesome look.
