Josep Coll Bardolet was raised between brushes with a flavor of the School of Olot and the modernist painting that he frequented in the Sala Parés, Bardolet cultivates his own style halfway between notes of Kandinsky-style abstraction and the color keys of his admired Mir. Exiled in France, he learned all he could about other cultures and ways of doing and thinking creatively. The influence he received from Majorcan lands is definitive, where he decides to settle and absorb the benefits and fantasies of the island's mountainous, saline and vegetal biographies. Navigating the waters of impression and expression, never opting for either, his style does not skimp on brushstrokes and expansive doses of color for a canvas that reclaims its textures while dancing alongside vigorous and brilliant tones.
