This antique circular floor-standing jardiniere plant … Read more Circa 1860, Superb Large Dutch solid brass repousse jardiniere/plant stand with three dolphin legs. This antique circular floor-standing jardiniere plant stand has three lion mask rings carrying handles equally spaced around the top of bowl and the bottom of the bowl has curved reeded embossing. Between the lion masks, there are three repousse' relief decorative panels embossed scenes, one depicting windmills in the distance, a lake or sea view with a boat sailing, and animal grazing, the next is a heraldic Dutch Crest of Royal coat of arms, and the third is with horse sleigh, windmill, and houses. There is a slight rope edge around the top rim.
The jardiniere is supported and attached with bolts to a very stylish tripod base of carved and gilded mythical sea dolphins/koi fish with scaled bodies and their mouths forming the paw feet. All fine in original condition with just a couple of minor losses of metal. Lovely color from a fine aged patina. A very rare piece truly one of a kind.

11" deep x 14.5" wide at opening (inside)

Wear consistent with age and use. In good, structurally sound, and sturdy condition with some discoloration all over from age as shown incredible patina. The photos are an important part of the item description and condition so please use the zoom feature to view them closely.
