Picturesque village scene with small cottages, masterly rendered using a variety of vibrant colors, bright and radiant tones, highlighted with white. All done in a brilliant Post-Impressionist manner
It is a sunny early autumn landscape, judging by the golden tree and the yellowing grass. Creates a distinctive calm southern atmosphere. A woman with a basket full of cotton can be seen in the middle of the path
