The Putah Creeks flows beneath an old Closed-spandrel red stone arch bridge 1896-1957 submerged intact beneath Lake Berryessa in 1957. When built this bridge was reputed to be the longest stone arch bridge in California and quite possibly the largest West of the Rockies.

Frank Willson Judd (American, 1864-1940) was born in Connecticut. Judd moved to Santa Barbara, California in 1875, working primarily as a sign painter. In 1890 he settled in San Francisco where he remained. He was employed as the chief artist for the Emporium in San Francisco, spending much of his time decorating and designing elaborate displays based on public holidays. For example, he painted portraits of military personnel, banners, and shields for display on Independence Day. He was a member of the Bohemian Club in San Francisco. See less
