The process of steam bending beech to create elegant chairs was discovered and developed by Thonet, but when its patents expired in 1869 many companies including Luterma launched production. Luterma was one of the brands marketed by Estonian factory A.M. Luther which was founded in the late 19th Century in Tallinn. Luthers production was principally in Estonia but they also had factories in France for local market production. At the time of the Bauhaus movement Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer worked with the factory to develop various models. These chairs date from the 1950s, a classic shape in a faded blonde colour. We service and wax each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. Seat Height 46cm. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
