This item was donated to our non-profit organization so the history is not known but it is beautifully made with dovetailed construction and a colorful pattern. The hinges appear to have been replaced.
There is a crack across the top but it does not interfere with use of the lid and only adds to the authenticity of the chest. Wood blocks under the feet are missing - see photo. Looks like pine wood with many natural variations. Worn areas are appropriate to the age and use of this item.
