Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, this 4x8 vintage Moroccan Kilim and Berber rug is an exciting new unveiling from the Rug & Kilim collection.
On the Design:
This flatweave is believed to originate from the Azilal tribe. This piece enjoys a rare play of pile and flatweave together, seldom seen in such good condition from tribal rugs curated today. This unique approach to textural appeal further creates a high-and-low sensibility that plays beautifully with the depth and graphic, vibrant nature of this nomadic culture’s flatweave rug style. Its stripes, chevrons and other geometric patterns enjoy warm and rich hues of orange, chocolate brown, blue, gold and more.
Condition:
This mid-century Moroccan Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
