Absorbed in his task, his muscles tense with effort, the man is in motion. He is dressed only in pants, with a cloth tied around his waist to store the seeds.

Alexandre Kelety (1874-1940) was a Hungarian sculptor born in Budapest. He studied under Imre Karoly Simay (1874-1955), a famous Hungarian sculptor and painter. Kelety emigrated to France after the First World War. His sculptures were exhibited at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. He also exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1927.
