This radiantly colored picture was painted by Henri Jonas, grandson of the painter Lucien JONAS (Anzin 1880-Paris 1947).
It features 2 fishing boats on the shore in a Breton landscape. In the background, a Breton house, and in the foreground, a fisherman.
The landscape is set in Sauzon, on the Ile de Belle Ile en mer in the Morbihan department of Brittany. The painter painted many pictures in Sauzon.

Henri Jonas studied art in Belgium, as he lived on the border with northern France. He exhibits regularly in Paris, Lille and Valenciennes and has always lived from his painting. Henri began his artistic life with a prize for young painters, and has always made a living from his art.
Henri exhibited for 4 years at Galerie Lauriston (founded by a Resistance doctor during the Second World War), 4 years at Ror Volmar (Faubourg Saint-Antoine), Galerie du Marais (run by M. Guy Max Hirri, near Place des Vosges) for 24 years. Salle Saint-Médart for 11 years in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. In 2013, Henri exhibited at the "Galerie du 16e" from January 25 to February 6, 2013.
Colors and light are exceptional. His favorite subjects are the olive groves of Provence, the seascapes of Brittany, the banks of the Dordogne and metaphysical paintings.
