A French wood carver and student of Jeanselme, Viardot is renowned and renowned for his avant-garde work in the production of Asian furniture.
This piece of furniture, made up of niches, opens with a drawer in a band, slightly shaped and recessed, with chiseled motifs on the front and on the returns. This drawer has a gilt bronze elephant head handle.
The top, whose extremities are reversed in the pagoda style, presents a removable altar with ornamental bronze representing a dragon.
The central part has a door mounted on brass knobs with original functional lock. This door, with a molded frame, is darkened by a recessed panel inlaid with motifs representing a stork in a plant environment.
The interior offers a shelf on cleats.
The uprights are rounded and jumped.
This set rests on a protruding plinth, also rounded, delicately carved, adorned with the head of a chimera.
At the corners, the legs are curved and recessed inwards.
