My first memories of being an artist are sitting at the kitchen table with a tin of crayons and not enough hours in the day to fill the blank pages in front of me. I was always happiest when creating, drawing and getting messy. I now have a few years of being a full-time artist under my belt along with my Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking. You’ll see these three disciplines cross-over again and again in my work; the scraping with my printmaking tools, thin layering and repetition. The painterly hand of someone who came up as a figure artist. The attention to detail and love for dry mediums that an illustrator knows so well. My process often tells the story, leaving the rest up to the viewers imagination. I don't enjoy literal art so I simply don't make it. I like to be surprised and leave a little to the imagination.
My inspiration spans from fond memories as a child growing up in the gardens, testing color relationships, searching for balance, the ease of big city street style, the subconscious mind, monitoring feeling, all the way to exploring pattern mixing and the conversations around me. I believe that inspiration is all around us... we just have to quiet ourselves enough to see it. So I use ALL of it. I translate this inspiration into my work with moments of grit, repetition, mixed mediums, interesting color pairings and the occasional moment of stillness.
Allison James has been seen and featured in various media, including The New York Times, The Bad on Paper podcast, Architectural Digest, Medium, Midwest Living and Atlanta Magazine. She has been in group shows around the US and offers work online directly to collectors. Allison currently works and lives in middle Georgia with her husband and rescue golden retriever, Reggie.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

- Chairish In-Home Delivery
