This is a traditional Asian carved trunk / hope chest with sailboat design. Sturdy with a beautiful golden, honey finish. Looking at the chest's interior, we believe it is camphor wood.
The structural condition is very good, and hinges work perfectly. Please note that there is little damage on one side of the lid, and that the varnish shows use wear at the top of the lid (but quite consistent with age). It seems to us that the varnish is original, but we are not experts.

Depth = 20 inches
Height = 20 inches
Note: There is no lock, and it does not seem to have had any in the past. There is no tray inside either.
