A pedestal table is a particular style of table that is supported by a single center support — i.e. “a pedestal” — rather than three or four individual legs. The pedestal portion is typically shaped like a pole, column, or plinth that supports the tabletop, providing stability and balance.

The central pedestal also provides more legroom around the table as compared to a four-legged table.
