Stairwells — like hallways — are one of those “in between spaces,” that can sometimes get the short end of the design stick. Even if they’re not technically rooms, they’re still some of the most important spaces of the home. And in many houses, they actually make the first impression for guests. Designers know that hallways can be crucial spaces for setting the tone for the rest of the home.
