Welcome to #FoundAndChairished, our weekly series where we talk to designers about an incredible piece they found on Chairish. Be on the lookout for new #FoundAndChairished stories here on the blog as well as on our Instagram account.
This week, we’re speaking with Chicago-based interior designer Sarah Vaile, who found the perfect pendant light for her “gossip room” exhibited in the Lake Forest Showhouse. Inspired by the royally flamboyant Netflix show The Crown, Vaile wanted a pendant that could match the room’s hot pink walls, jungle-themed wallpaper, and black-and-white patterned tiles. Read on to learn about her search and find a pendant of your own right here on Chairish.

Fresh and classic with a dash of whimsy
How did you find the item you bought on Chairish, and what made you choose it? Did you have a specific search or were you just browsing?
We are constantly hunting and saving our favorite items so that when we need them, we can come shop from our very own curated Chairish list.
Did you know where you’d put this piece in your home when you bought it, or did you figure you’d find the right spot?
We got this pendant light for a very specific spot, but we often buy things from Chairish just because we love them. When you love something, you always find a place for it!
Why do you love shopping vintage? And how does sustainability factor into your choices of new products vs. vintage finds?
Vintage pieces offer a unique slant to a space in a way you might not otherwise see somewhere else. They truly bring in the personality, charm, and story to any room. And talk about a fun way to shop sustainably! I also love to imagine the story of the piece traveling from owner to owner.
Are there any dream vintage or antique pieces you wish you could have?
Somebody, I will be able to collect the big-time art I love. It’s something for me to look forward to!
