It typically features a short backrest, as well as the long seat which allows a person to stretch out their legs. Chaise lounges are still very common today and are often selected for living rooms, bedrooms, and other spaces.
While fainting couches and chaise lounges share some similarities, they differ in their design and function. Fainting couches are typically longer and more narrow than chaise lounges, which tend to be wider and more chair-like. Fainting couches are designed for reclining and relaxation, while chaise lounges can be used for both seating and reclining.
