We sat down with Krista Nye Nicholas and Tami Ramsay, the talented Atlanta interior design team CLOTH & KIND, to learn about their design philosophy, interior inspiration, and their favorite Atlanta haunts.
What’s so fun about shopping on Chairish?
The selections are endless and the vibe is just right. Vintage, vintage, vintage – and well curated vintage, at that.
How do you incorporate vintage pieces into your spaces?
We always use vintage art and accessories in projects and when all the stars align, killer vintage and antique furniture that we have updated by swathing it in gorgeous artisanal textiles.
What’s a design rule you always follow? What’s a design rule you love to break?
We always put at least a few paint color samples up on all four walls before making the final choice. Lighting is everything with paint selection, and hues will vary greatly throughout the day. You won’t regret taking the time to do this! There are no real rules in design, at least not to us. We just follow our gut, always, and it most definitely leads us to much more creative and interesting places than if we were to follow a rule book.
Designer you most admire?
We can’t pick just one! Mona Hajj, Angie Hranowsky & Betsy Brown, to name a few.
Space you can’t get out of your mind?
Anything by Axel Vervoordt.
Favorite hotel?
We’ve got a hunch it will be the new Indigo Hotel in downtown ATL.
Biggest splurge?
Shoes, incredible textiles and travel – preferably international.
Vice you will never give up?
COFFEE!
Local Favorites: Atlanta, GA
On a cold and rainy Saturday, what’s your plan?
A morning run in the woods or a yoga class, followed by and afternoon and evening hibernating at home in comfy clothes with family and good food.
What is your best neighborhood eatery with no reservation required?
White Tiger in Athens and Souper Jenny’s in ATL.
Who is your “go to” florist for a delivery to a special friend?
We make a damn fine arrangement ourselves but when we want the motherload, we head to 3 Porch Farm in Athens.
Where is the best perch for people watching?
The High Museum.
