We’re back with a new guest tastemaker for some quick-fire questions and a mini-curation of some fab Chairish finds!
This week we are joined by designer, Charlotte Lucas. Born and raised in North Carolina by a designer mother, it was almost inevitable that Charlotte would throw down her design roots in her home state. Since 2012, Charlotte Lucas Interior Design has been executing thoughtful yet whimsical residential interiors from their Charlotte, N.C. homebase, with a particular penchant for masterful maximalist pairings. A Charlotte Lucas interior always beautifully proves the impact of vintage, and Charlotte happily dedicates shopping trips (virtual trips to Chairish included!) to unearth those one-of-a-kind pieces that bring her projects to life. Read on to meet this rising design maven and keep your eyes on the Chairish blog for an upcoming insider look at Charlotte’s brand new wallpaper and fabric line: House of Harris!
Last show you binge watched?
Schitt’s Creek. Just cried laughing through most of it.
Coolest vintage piece in your house?
Hand painted murals in my dining room. I found them from a dealer in Charleston, South Carolina who discovered them in the attic of an estate sale. They were originally a 19th century wedding gift to a S.C. couple. They are gorgeous on their own, but what makes me love them more is the story behind them.
Where’s next on your travel bucket list?
London! I’m looking forward to exploring London with my husband this fall. He lived there before we were married and we have hoped to go together ever since we met. 14 years later we are doing it!
Do you collect anything?
“Collect” is a nice way to put it. I love picking up vintage items when I am traveling or out shopping for clients. I don’t discriminate, I love it all! Small objects, large trays, bowls, vases, glass or ceramic pieces, art, old china sets, glassware…you name it. If it’s old and it speaks to me, I usually buy it!
