A few questions: Do you love color? Do you love cocktails? Do you love home tours? Do you love travel guides? Do you love DIY and home décor tips and tricks? If you answered ‘YES!“ to any or all of the above (and if you’re reading this, the answer is likely UH HUH or a squeal of delight to all) then you NEED TO, you MUST, check in often with Will Taylor’s cheerful, inspiring website Bright Bazaar.

Bright Bazaar is just bursting with fun ideas and photos to get you thinking about color in a whole new way. Never one to fear a punchy mix of hues or stripes of every size, Will’s goal is to get readers to embrace the idea that a bold palette can be not only timeless, but unlock something personal in each and every one of us. He believes in the power of color so whole-heartedly, he took two years to write a book about how to incorporate it into any interior!

Whether clicking around on Will’s site, scrolling through his Instagram feed or flipping through the pages of his lovely book, it is impossible not to grasp the depth to which this man cares about sharing his passion. You quickly realize that he has endless ideas and discoveries he wants to share. He took extra time (lucky us!) to answer some questions about how he makes it all look so damn good and gets everything done! Bonus: there is a really awesome set of tips for how those of you reading who might shy away from color can test it out, no strings attached.

Color: you’re clearly obsessed. What is the first memory you have of being attracted to something colorful?
I vividly remember the colors of my childhood bedroom: a true blue window blink and sunshine yellow bedding. The window looked out over lush fields belonging to the farmer across the road. It was this glorious trio of hues that had me hooked on color, I think.

You’ve written a book all about color. What was the process link?
Making my book was a full-on, two-year-long process. I loved working on it and poured my soul into it. Once I had signed my deal, I strove ahead with the initial idea, spending three months sourcing locations, contacting owners, looking at scouting images and so on, before compiling a list of fourteen homes to shoot across seven different countries out of a list of about sixty locations. With the locations decided upon, I then compiled a travel schedule lining up all of the shoots my country/region and creating a flight/car schedule to match. To give you an idea of how tight the schedules were: we shot four homes, across four days, in three different countries! I worked with the same photographer throughout the project. I styled and art directed the pictures, while he shot them. With all the pictures shot, we then flat planned the book and I wrote the copy and directed the book designer on page layouts. Then it was into proofreading, finishing touches and color checks, before it was finally done. Then I spent several month’s promoting the book, including a six-week American book tour, once it was published.

What do you hope people will take away from reading your book?
I hope that people will see it as a personalized guide to color that will stand the test of time. Whether you have no idea what colors you like, or if you know which hues you gravitate towards and don’t know how to use them, this book will show you how. From helping pinpoint your look before you work with an interior designer, to going it alone on your decorating journey, I hope the book will inspire more people to imprint their personalities on their homes via color.

You’re passionate about taking pictures. Did you ever have any lessons on how to use a camera or are you more of a trial and error type?
I just dived straight on in! I love Instagram as there are some very inspiring accounts and photographers on there. There are also some good photography how-to’s on You Tube.

What’s your camera of choice?
I love my Canon 5D Mark III. The iPhone 5S also has a great camera for a phone.
