Our design loving leader shares what she’s excited about in the month ahead. Prepare to mark your calendars and make one killer to-do (and shopping) list for March!

The Original Round Top Antiques Fair
(Round Top, Texas, March 27 – April 1)
“Twice a year, Round Top, Texas hosts America’s largest flea market, stretching a full 11 miles on either side of Highway 237 (well . . . it is Texas after all). The charming Emily Henderson and I will be shopping together and bringing home gobs of treasures for a special Chairish online sale. Add in a night of BBQ and live music in Austin and it’s shaping up to be two perfect days.”

Sergio Rodrigues Show at R & Company
(New York, New York, March 7 – April 13)
“When I was at Art Basel, I had the opportunity to hear R & Company’s Zesty Meyers speak about discovering and bringing to market the work of Brazilian mid-century modern master Sergio Rodrigues. It was a fascinating tale, starring Zesty as a curatorial Indian Jones. I am super excited to see R & Company’s solo exhibition of Rodrigues’ most important pieces, underscoring that the brilliance of Brazilian modernism is just beginning to be fully appreciated.”

Cherry blossoms in my kitchen!

Cherry blossoms
“California has had So. Much. Rain. I am more than ready to say hello to Spring and my favorite flower: gracefully towering branches of lacy cherry blossoms. Nothing looks better than a few massive arms of these beauties housed in a large glass cylinder. Plus, the blossoms last for weeks and require almost no maintenance. Here they are in my kitchen.”

More bounce in California: my Karl Springer poufs!

Karl Springer Souffle Poufs
“Pouf! There it is. I just bought this pair of Springer “souffle-style” poufs to tuck under our piano.  We pop them out when we need extra seating for a crowd and I think the scale, detailing and shape are quite chic. They make the perfect perch during a cocktail hour in our impromptu piano bar.”

Albert Frey’s Color Palette
“I must still be reveling in last month’s Palm Springs holiday because I’m positively unable to shake my obsession with this Modernism master’s on fleek palette of sunny yellow, blush pink, and sand. Thank you, Mr. Frey.”

Cauliflower

“Cauliflower. It’s the new kale! I’m loving this easy peasy recipe that includes my favorite ingredients: Kalamata olives, capers, flat leaf parsley and red pepper flakes.  Serve this with roasted chicken or steak along with some sliced, crusty bread. Simple and delicious!”
