Ok, so turns out being committed to the neighborhood and sourcing stuff in a sustainably and local fashion is not just a Brooklyn thing. May I introduce Tiffany Paige, the second storeowner in our Chicago City guide that cites fierce dedication to her Pilsen neighborhood as being a major defining factor of her business. With her husband Mike, she opened Modern Cooperative after having lived in the area for many years and decided to fully commit to the local community.

Another theme she’s super into: curating a mix that heavily features Mid-Century Modern furniture and décor together with “the high and low, the fun and the serious, vintage and handmade.” She and Mike are also committed to exposing Chicago talent by featuring two local artists each month in store as part of Chicago Arts District 2nd Friday.
