Pile of Chairish original throw pillows on an accent chair in ribbon motif fabric

Don’t freak out, but the work of one of your favorite artists just made the jump from the wall to furniture pieces, pillows, and more. The Angela Chrusciaki Blehm for Chairish collection, our first foray into custom furnishings, has officially arrived! Along with Angela, a top-selling artist, Chairish partnered with the country’s first innovative, tech-focused furniture brand, Cloth & Company, to make some serious magic happen. We sat down with Chairish’s V.P. of Merchandising, Noel Fahden, to find out how a few stunning pieces of artwork became the collection of chic and unique furnishings people are snapping up for their homes.

The Backstory

Angela’s “Pop Art Meets Postmodern” aesthetic combined with her bold artistic style has won her many Chairish fans, which got Noel and her team plotting. “Because so much of Angela’s original artwork is already three dimensional, we thought translating it into furniture would be a natural extension,” says Noel. How to do that exactly is what led the team to Cloth & Company, helmed by Meganne Wecker. “Cloth & Company is the only partner that has the technology and know-how to even do something like this,” says Noel. “But beyond that, we loved how excited they were about this concept from the very beginning and how eager they were to help bring Angela’s vision to life.”

The Fabrics

“Angela provided us with so many wonderful designs to choose from, as well as many different colorways,” says Noel. “Once we had her artwork, we worked closely with Cloth & Company’s design team, who made minor tweaks to the scale and pattern repeats.” It turned out the biggest challenge the team faced was narrowing down which designs to launch with. “Angela provided us with such a breadth of artwork to choose from, we spent weeks deliberating how to edit it,” Noel reveals.

The Shapes

“We knew all along that we wanted to include the amazing banquette,” says Noel of the furniture shapes they chose for the collection. “We first saw it at one of Cloth & Company’s showrooms awhile back and were so impressed with the quality and design sensibility. With the addition of Angela’s fabric, it feels very custom.” The seating options also include a slipper chair and two perfectly proportioned poufs. “Our shoppers love a great accent ottoman, which is why we couldn’t help ourselves from launching with two different styles,” shares Noel. “It was impossible to choose just one!”

The Results

The curtains, pillows, and seating silhouettes included in the collection are each available in five different Angela Chrusciaki Blehm fabrics, making each made-to-order piece customizable. “We love how it all turned out,” say Noel. “It perfectly captures Angela’s unique design sensibility and it feels like such a natural extension of her artistic vision.” It was Angela’s incomparable vision that was the driving force behind the entire endeavor. As Noel notes, “Even when she experiments with different mediums and styles, there’s an underlying cohesion to everything Angela does, and her furniture pieces are no exception.”
