Victoria Smith Collects Absolutely Everything

Victoria Smith with saucer light fixture, Eames-style swivel chair, straw slipper chair, and contemporary art

We’re back with a new guest tastemaker for some quick-fire questions and a mini-curation of some fab Chairish finds!

This week we are joined by OG Pinfluencer, author, and celebrated blogger Victoria Smith, aka SF Girl by Bay. Since the launch of her San Francisco lifestyle blog in 2006, Victoria – who has since relocated to Los Angeles with her dog Lucy – has become known for her modern approach to boho chic and her strikingly gram-worthy travel photos. Read on to see her Chairish faves and learn which style trends she thinks we should leave in the 2010s.

Coolest vintage piece in your house?
My bamboo French daybed.

Ultimate style icon?
Diane Keaton.

Most memorable career moment you’ve had so far?
I think it would have to be publishing my book, See San Francisco with Chronicle Books.

Pet peeve?
For some reason I really dislike when women refer to their husbands not by their name, but by “the hubs” or “my hubby.” Seems like humble bragging, but maybe because I’m still single – Ha!

One talent you wish you had?
I’d like to be able to have carpentry skills. To build something beautiful from scratch with my own hands.

Do you collect anything?
Does everything count? I collect a lot: Vintage pottery and unusual small sculptures… I also seem to accumulate an awful lot of vintage chairs.

What’s a current trend you hope doesn’t exist in 100 years?
Millennial blush pink with cactus motifs.
