What is standard desk height?

On average, standard desk height is defined as 28″ to 30.” Important to keep in mind is that this range is best for a person measuring between 5’8” to 5’10” tall. If you’re shorter or taller, chances are that you’ll want to scale your desk height up or down. Accommodating for a more diverse array of heights, it is probably more accurate to say that standard desk height is between 22” and 33.” Some things to keep in mind when you’re desk scouting? Most people favor a desk height that accommodates their elbows at a 90-degree angle. If you’re not among that set, any angle between 70 and 135-degrees can pass as ergonomically correct. Found a vintage desk you love but it’s too high or low for your height? Rather than rehab the desk, you may be able to remedy the issue with an adjustable office chair. One more expert tip? Ensure your desk offers proper clearance for your legs. Typically, you don’t want a desk with a desktop that hangs too low and prohibits your legs from moving freely. As you might have guessed, restricted leg movement can also negatively affect your posture and overall ergonomics.
